New Delhi – four-year-old prodigy Jubu Prasad got promoted to senior rock sifter for a construction crew in South Delhi Monday, becoming one of the youngest ever to be given the important position. Jubu first started working in the construction business when he was two years old, doing odd jobs like carrying rocks and digging holes. Soon it was apparent the child was a prodigy whose productivity greatly exceeded most workers his age. Jubu’s mother, who first introduced him to the business, insists she knew he was destined for great things at an early age: “Before he could even walk he would pick up stones, put them into baskets and then crawl with the basket on his head. I knew we had something special, and I made sure to get him involved in the business quickly so his skills could develop.”

The man in charge of the construction crew, contractor Deepak Singh, noticed the child’s gift right away and made sure he constantly gave Jubu jobs which would challenge his advanced abilities, “That kid can do everything, I have made him break rocks, dig, control traffic, there is nothing he can’t do. I have never such a fine rock sifter.” Asked when Jubu would get the promotion to the higher position of “heavy rock filled basket carrier” Singh replied, “At the rate he is going very soon, although that position is normally reserved for 8 year olds.”
